Cincinnati is home to a treasure trove of wonderful places, events and people. Yes, we're biased because this is the home of Roadtrippers, but places like Fountain Square, Great American Ballpark and Findlay Market are truly some of Cincinnati's best. One of the coolest events Cincinnati hosts is LumenoCity, put on by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. To get a quick picture, imagine a stunning light show timed in combination with glorious symphonic melodies and synchronized ballet. The beautiful sounds of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Ballet accompanied the light show projected onto Cincinnati Music Hall.
This year, we were there to capture the experience and share it with you.
Described on their site as a "one-of-a-kind live illuminated concert experience," the event is wildly popular and Cincinnatians pack out Washington Park with lawn chairs and blankets to watch the show projected onto the Cincinnati Music Hall. Actually, the tradition only began in 2013 but did so well that it'll remain a highly anticipated event in Cincinnati for a while. Over the three shows each night of the weekend, more than 40,000 people gathered to be wow-ed by the incredible light show.
Since gates opened mid-morning and the event didn't begin until the evening, many different local vendors provided guests with tastes of Cincinnati. Places like Christian Moerlein Brewing Company, Rhinegeist, Taste of Belgium and Graeter's Ice Cream were some of the local favorites present. The strong local culture of Queen City couldn't be missed!Roadtrippers, a great resource for anyone interested in travel.
