Five Unusual Souvenirs from Walt Disney World

From the traditional Mickey Mouse ear hats to t-shirts and toys, you can find plenty of traditional souvenirs at Walt Disney World. But what happens if you want to bring something home that is a bit more unusual or a little more high-end? Walt Disney World has you covered. Here are five unique souvenirs that you wouldn't expect to find at Walt Disney World.

Recycled Paper Beads
Located in the African Outpost section of Epcot is a small kiosk that sells paper bead jewelry, but these are not ordinary beads. The beads are made from recycled Disney park maps. The park maps are shipped to Africa, hand rolled into unique beads and made water resistant so that they can be worn for years to come.

High-End Designer Perfumes and Cologne
In several of the countries of Epcot's World Showcase, there are collections of designer perfumes for sale. In Norway, you can find fragrances for men and women from Geir Ness. Italy offers Prada, Acqua di Parma, Bvlgari, Valentino and more. France has dozens of high-end fragrances from Lacoste, Chanel, Givenchy and others. Staff on site can help you select the perfect fragrance for yourself or a gift for others.

Norwegian Sweaters and Japanese Kimonos
During the hot summer months in Florida, shopping for thick, wool sweaters may not immediately come to mind. In the Norway pavilion in Epcot, however, designer sweaters from Dale of Norway are available for sale. If bundling up in merino wool is not for you, in the Mitsukoshi store in the Japan pavilion, you can be fitted for an authentic kimono. The kimonos are available in a variety of colors for men, women and children.

Painted Ostrich Eggs
Many different types of artwork can be found in galleries throughout Walt Disney World, but for a unique and eye-catching piece, painted ostrich eggs make a wonderful show piece. Available at Disney's Animal Kingdom, each egg is hand-painted with a scene from Africa or an African animal. Un-fertilized eggs laid by ostriches at Animal Kingdom are used to make these one-of-a-kind works of art.

Tea Sets and Cozies
A knitted tea cozy that looks like a chicken may not be the first gift that you think of when you think of Walt Disney World, but it is just one of the tea cozies that you can find at Epcot's United Kingdom pavilion. Don't have a tea pot to cover with a cozy? Disney has you covered, whether getting a British-style tea pot at the United Kingdom pavilion or a Japanese or Chinese tea set at their respective pavilions. And, of course, if you're still looking for a Disney-themed souvenir, you can get an Alice in Wonderland tea pot, perfect for your next mad tea party.
