4 Great Places For Thrift Shopping In Huron County, Michigan

Thrift store shopping offers a quick and cheap way to furnish a home, start up a new craft project, or get a far more affordable wardrobe. Some people fear shopping at thrift stores, but they don't realize the amazing treasures that can be found within. It's like a garage sale that runs all year long indoors where you can find awesome daily deals.

If you find yourself living in, or visiting, the thumb of Michigan, here are some of the best thrift and resale shops for you to check out.

Helping Hands Thrift Store
This Caseville thrift store is not just a tourist destination for great deals, but it is also one of the best thrift stores in the county. They don't just have clothes and housewares, but they also have a nice little antiques and collectibles corner and a book room.

Often, Helping Hands has sales, like clothing bag sales at the end of the season to pull out summer or winter clothes. They also have a year round Christmas corner.

The United Methodist Free Store
The Free Store has been open for just over three years now and is still running strong. Everyone is welcome, whether you need free stuff or not. They only require that you put your name in a notebook and how many people you are shopping for, if you find any items.

The Free Store has a small food pantry, plenty of clothing for everyone, a small toy section, books, and even housewares. Everything is absolutely free, and they love monetary and item donations.

Thumb Industries Thrift Store
The Thumb Industries Thrift Store is one of the oldest thrift stores in the area, located in Bad Axe. Although they have moved a couple times, they still remain a great place to shop for everything your house needs, from furniture to clothing. They have a great shoe section and an antique corner with some interesting items that collectors will love.

They also have a frequent shopper card that gives you some money off after you've spent a certain amount.

Huron County only recently got their first Goodwill store, but it was definitely a welcome addition. It is centrally located in Bad Axe and offers a selection of both new and used items. Much of their new clothing is donated by other area stores. That's one of the best things about Goodwill; new items donated from stores can be a great purchase idea for gifts and personal use.

Whether or not you are normally a fan of thrift and resale shops, you should check these out. You will be amazed at the treasures and deals that you will find.
