Five Top Juice Bars in Portland

With its emphasis on fresh, local and healthy living, it's no wonder Portland is home to so many juicing companies. Whether you are interested in doing a multi-day cleansing, or just want to pick up a healthy snack, you can't go wrong with these five juiceries.

Portland Juice Co.
Portland Juice Co. provides 100 percent natural, fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juices using a hydraulic pressure extraction system to preserve live enzymes. Science-y science blah blah blah, whatever PJC is doing, it's working. From the standard green juice to the slightly-spicy digestion aids, it has a juice for you. You can't go wrong with its many nut milks - definitely try the Bala, made with raw cacao, raw almonds, dates, nutmeg and sea salt. With many locations around town - as well as delivery options - it's also convenient.

Kure Juice Bar
Kure started as a food cart, and has since grown to encompass several brick and mortar locations. It believes in a balanced approach to juicing, and so doesn't offer juice cleanse packages. It does offer a great variety of juices, smoothies and healthy food options, though. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Blue Majik, which has cold-pressed cashew, cinnamon, maple syrup and blue algae, giving this juice its vibrant color.

Give yourself a mini-spa day with Prasad. It shares space with Yoga Pearl, so you can go from downward dog to downing a delicious and healthy juice. The juices veer toward the more traditional, but there are some options to get a little crazy (cucumber jalapeno cilantro pineapple spinach lime juice anyone?). It also has an extensive smoothie and bowls menu.

Pure Simple Juice
Like most Portland juice options, Pure Simple Juice prides itself in providing local, organic, fresh ingredients for its juices. It stands apart from the crowd though because it is committed to sustainable practices - no plastic bottles for this juice shop. You will spend a little extra on the reusable glass bottles, but you can feel good about making your body and the world a little cleaner. In addition, Pure Simple Juice offers a juice and soup cleanse, a great choice for those unsure they can commit to the cleansing process.

Slow Squeeze Juice
This juice cart really takes its juice seriously. So seriously that it will not even let a blade touch the organic fruits and veggies that go into the juices. Instead it uses a slow squeeze method to preserve all the nutrition. Can you taste the difference? In addition to juices, it offers a limited smoothie menu.
