Where to Watch July 4th 2016 Fireworks in Grand Rapids

This year, Grand Rapids is hosting their fireworks on Saturday, June 2. If you ask any person in Grand Rapids where it is that they watch the fireworks each year, every one of them will likely say a different place. Some people want the best seats, while some people are happy to enjoy them from their own porches, and some people would prefer to set off their own with the new laws in Michigan.

The Event

The Amway Family Fireworks start at 10:30 pm, and are set off on the shore of the Grand River at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids. There is more than just the fireworks for your family enjoyment. Enjoy music, food vendors, sales vendors, family-friendly activity, and other entertainment starting in the afternoon. The park is located at 303 Pearl St. NW, and is adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.

Where To Watch From

If you want one of the best seats in town, look to the hotels in the area, like the JW Marriott. You can enjoy the light show from the deck of a classy bar or restaurant. If you have the whole family with you, consider enjoy the display from the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Buy tickets ahead of time for their annual Independence Day Fundraiser.

If you prefer watching the fireworks without the crowds of people, find a friend that lives in the vicinity and hang out with them. Or take a stroll up East Leonard Hill for a higher view. However, with so much going on prior to the fireworks, it can be fun to get down close to the action.
