You can't miss the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. It's just at the corner of East Hallandale Beach Boulevard and A1A. Coming from the west, make a left on South Ocean Drive, otherwise known as A1A. The fabulous Crowne Plaza will be the first property on your left. Drive in on the left side of the hotel and park in the back parking lot, where you'll immediately see the expansive view of the Intracoastal Waterway. There's also a massive swimming pool where you'll see hotel guests relaxing on floaties, swimming and sunning on the abundant poolside loungers. The tiki bar is poolside and overlooks the pool and the waterway. Don't worry. From any seat, you'll be able to appreciate the water views.

The Lava Tiki Bar & Grille serves up tasty frozen blended drinks, but the bar is fully stocked so feel free to order your signature drink. The knowledgeable bartenders will do right by it. If you want to try something exotic though, give the Volcano Runner a taste. Made with two types of premium rum, brandy and a mix of fruit juices, this gives a standard rum punch a run for the money. The menu food isn't fancy, but it is mouth-watering tasty. Everything is done just right, including the Crowne Steak Sandwich, which you'll want to request extra napkins for before you dig in.

Visit any day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. No reservations needed. The tiki bar faces west, so if you get there around sunset, you'll get to see the sky turn amazing colors. On Friday nights, the Lava Tiki Bar & Grille in South Florida offers live music from local bands, but every night is a party at this picturesque South Florida spot.

Bamboo Beach Club & Tiki Bar
4040 Galt Ocean Drive
Fort Lauderdale, FL
Tel: 954.566.7500

If you crave an authentic tiki bar that's right on the water, visit the Bamboo Beach Club & Tiki Bar in Fort Lauderdale. This is the only tiki bar licensed to operate on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. The sand is just on the other side of the railings that separate this lively bar from the sun and surf worshipers.

To get to this tiki bar, pull into the Ocean Manor Beach Resort parking lot and allow the valet parking attendant to park your vehicle. Walk inside past the front reception area and through a small door that leads outside.

The tiki bar is quite large, and consists of the traditional thatched hut roof over a round bar. Rattan stools surround the bar and if you're lucky you might just find a front row seat. High top rattan tables are plentiful, but you can't depend on table side service during peak times. Don't be shy to approach one of the gorgeous bartenders (male and female) to place your drinks order.

If you prefer a little sunshine with your Mai Tai, there are tables and benches along the railing just outside the cover of the tiki bar, but still within reach of the beach and the bar. Food is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hours are Monday through Thursday, and Sunday from 7a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. till 3 a.m.
