Train Like an Olympic Athlete in Tampa

It's no secret that the U.S. Olympic Committee has selected our area as a training site for athletes for Rio 2016. Even the Cuban national rowing team is taking advantage of our area's waters and weather to train. This year's Olympic activities undoubtedly has the area in a buzz.

So what does one do with this excitement aside from watching the games on tv? They go out and find ways to win in their own ways.

Cooper Speed Strength School

Dr. Josh Cooper has trained athletes for 6 different Olympic games as well as U.S. professional sports league athletes. When athletes are in need of speed or strength, they go and see Dr. Cooper. From $150 to over $2,000 per month, you too can get into your winning shape with professional help.

Keep Pulling

Patrick Costello and his team of U.S. Weightlifting coaches are experts in the field in Tampa. Their expertise is poured into Keep Pulling, an Olympic weightlifting resource created to help locals get ready for sanctioned events. Their training occurs at Crossfit 813. Their programs vary in price, but some basic sessions can be purchased beginning at $20.

Tampa Bay Aquatics

The Tampa Bay Aquatics is USA Swimming Certified. Kids can learn to improve your stroke and times can be done at one of their 7 locations. Pricing is given upon contacting their offices.

While you may not want to invest money into your Olympic dream right away, don't forget we are surrounded by wonderful trails like the Suncoast Parkway Trail and waterways like the Hillsborough River to help you train.
