For most coffee enthusiasts, the way the coffee is prepared is just as important as the atmosphere the shop provides. Whether you're looking for a morning pick-me-up, or want to find a place to hang out in for awhile, Omaha's local coffee shops are a great places to get exactly what you need. I've compiled a list of some of the best local coffee shops in Omaha.

Aroma's Coffeehouse
This coffeeshop and bakery is owned locally and offers some of the best baked goods in the city. There are a few locations around Omaha that offer a wide selection of baked goods and amazing drinks. Each location offers a bit of an old school charm with exposed brick walls and many comfortable places to sit and do your work.

Caffeine Dreams
Located in historic Midtown Omaha, Caffeine Dreams offers a wide selection of drinks and vegan baked goods. They roast their own coffee in-house every week, so you're guaranteed to get a great cup. Out of the five locations on this list, Caffeine Dreams is the coffeehouse I frequent the most as they offer such a chill place to sit and do my work. There are plenty of couches and tables to work at, as well as a spacious back patio full of trees and lush greenery, offering a wonderful atmosphere to sit and enjoy your morning cup.

Blue Line Coffee
With two locations in Omaha, Blue Line Coffee serves fair trade espresso drinks and a variety of light snacks. Both locations have a great outdoor patio that's perfect for people-watching and their coffee menu is diverse and full of all sorts of delicious drinks. If you're not a coffee-lover, I recommend getting a glass of their lemonade.

Howlin Hounds Coffee
If you're looking for the best cup of french-pressed coffee in the city, look no further. Named after the owner's two dogs, Howlin Hounds Coffee offers a variety of drinks and prepares each cup with expertise. Their shop is located in a converted downtown bar on 16th and Leavenworth and art from local artists adorns the walls. Their pastries are sourced locally and the atmosphere is cozy and full of warmth.

Legend Comics and Coffee
For the caffeinated nerd (like myself), Legend Comics and Coffee offers the unique experience of being both a full-service comic shop as well as a coffee shop. The store is located in the historic Wohlner's Grocery building on Leavenworth, and offers a great place to browse their incredible selection of comics with your favorite latte. They regularly host events and their house brewed coffee is some of the best in the city.
