Tap Root

Located in the heart of Anchorage's former famous red-light district, Spenard, Tap Root is a low-key bar and restaurant featuring nightly events that often include local bands. One of the most popular events is the Parlor in the Round, an evening of musical improv comedy.

Chilkoot Charlie's

Known affectionately by the locals as Koots, Chilkoot Charlie's is a historic building housing 10 different bars under one roof. Koots showcases a variety of entertainment ranging from comedy nights to high-profile bands and often local bands. Humpy's offers good beer, good food and great local music. Located in downtown Anchorage, Humpy's has live, local music every Friday and Saturday night and features an Open Mic night on Sunday evenings. In recent years, the bar and restaurant has put on a popular summer concert series.
