There are so many spots for Instagram moments in the Steel City that you really can't go wrong. Try these following locations that won't disappoint.
The Pittsburgh Skyline
Any view of the Pittsburgh skyline is amazing. Whether you are snapping Instagrams from the overlook on Mt. Washington, at Point State Park or even traveling on the West End Bridge, the city vista is always incredible. Also, try and get up close and walk around the city to capture the many unique and impressive landmarks, architecture and spires.
PNC Park - Home of the Pittsburgh Pirates
PNC Park was ranked number one baseball stadium in Ballpark Digest's 2015 Best of the Ballparks list. We mentioned city vistas above and PNC Park probably has one of the best views of the city as the skyline dominates the outfield horizon. The monuments, statues and overall aesthetics of the stadium are an Instagram users dream. Be sure to actually watch the game while you are snapping away.
The Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh
The Carnegie Museum of Art, The Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Science Center and the Andy Warhol Museum are all under the Carnegie Museum banner. From dinosaur bones and Monet to Campbell Soup, Brillo and robotics - The Instagram adventure is endless. The Carnegie Museum of Art and The Carnegie Museum of Natural History are both located in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. The Carnegie Science Center and the Andy Warhol Museum are both located on the North Shore of Pittsburgh, so plan your Instagram campaign accordingly.
The National Aviary of Pittsburgh
The National Aviary boasts that it is America's only independent indoor nonprofit zoo dedicated exclusively to birds. The National Aviary is home to over 500 species of birds from around the world. There are so many colorful feathers and plumes that this is a great location to experiment with the many fun Instagram color filters.
Pittsburgh City Events, Festivals and Celebrations
Pittsburgh likes to celebrate. Festivals, concerts, street fairs and championship parades happen all over the city and sometimes the fun overlaps. The Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins paraded throughout downtown this past June and while hundreds of thousands of fans were cheering at City Hall, the Three Rivers Arts Festival was entertaining more Pittsburghers down at Point State Park. Another unique Pittsburgh festival, Picklesburgh took place in mid-summer and the giant iconic Heinz pickle was flying high. Anytime you are downtown you better have your mobile device ready because there is always a party going on.
Stay safe and happy Instagramming!
