Donald Trump's Election Won't Affect Denver's Legal Weed

Denver: Don't worry, your weed is safe.

For all the things Donald Trump's presidency may or may not mean for the state of Colorado and the City of Denver, the legality of marijuana is far and away one of the things you should be the least worried about.

As recently as February, Trump told Bill O'Reilly: "medical marijuana, medical? I'm in favor of it a hundred percent."

So medical MJ is clearly safe. Not a shocker, but if Trump was actually willing to say that to O'Reilly while he was simultaneously doing his best to bring in the alt-right during the Republican primaries, he's probably not going to flip-flop on it now.

But what about recreational pot? Trump isn't as clearly for it as medical, but he did tell the Washington Post that "In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state..."

It's extremely unlikely that a Donald Trump administration would do anything to alter or revise Colorado's recreational marijuana laws. As for other issues? I'm personally not getting into any of that right now.
