15 Restaurants Open for Thanksgiving in Lynchburg

It's not easy to find restaurants in Lynchburg that will stay open on the holidays. Those of you who have been looking for Lynchburg restaurants for either an early morning Thanksgiving cup of joe or a full-out Southern-style feast have come to the right place: we did all the phone calls and Googling for you.

Whether you don't want to fool with a turkey or need a larger space to entertain out-of-town guest, or whether you simply want to enjoy a holiday meal out on the town, check out this list to find your Thanksgiving dinner destination.

1. Bob Evans
Bob Evans on Wards Road will be open all day, from 6:00 a.m until 8:00 p.m. If you just want a traditional American Midwestern-style Bob Evans meal to bring home, order a Farmhouse Feast meal in advance and pick it up fresh on Thanksgiving Day.

2. Buffalo Wild Wings
If you're not going to be on your own couch to catch the game, then you might as well see it on the big screen. The Lynchburg Buffalo Wild Wings opens at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and closes at 2 a.m.

3. Choice Hibachi Buffet
Whether you want a Chinese feast for your Thanksgiving meal or all-American pot roast, Choice Hibachi Buffet on Wards Road has you covered. Opening early to serve breakfast (from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.) and serving dinner until 10:30 p.m.; reservations are required for large parties of 20 or more.

4. Country Cookin'
Country Cookin' on Timberlake Road will feature their signature salad bar along with other Southern, home-style goodies from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

5. Cracker Barrel
Cracker Barrel on Wards Road will also be open from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 pm, featuring their famous homestyle meals and fixins.

6. The Crown Sterling
A Lynchburg classic, The Crown Sterling on Fort Avenue is still taking reservations for their Thanksgiving buffet (and you can still order from the regular menu, too).While you might be able to walk in and be seated, the eatery prefers reservations.

7. Delicias
From their family to yours, the warmth and kindness behind Delicia's on Timberlake Road accepts reservations for Thanksgiving and walk-ins are welcome, too.The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

8. Golden Corral
Golden Corral on Wards Road will be open all day from 8 a.m until 8 p.m.The buffet will feature traditional Thanksgiving treats.

9. The Great Room
Located in The Kirkley Hotel, The Great Room is still accepting reservations for their featured buffet from the hours of 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 pm.

10. The Hill City House
The Hill City House is featuring a complete Thanksgiving buffet with from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. and is currently accepting reservations.

11. Kegney Brothers
Whether you want to have a late dinner out or simply grab a pint to celebrate, Kegney Brothers has you covered. Open on Thanksgiving from 5:00 pm—2:00 a.m.

12. Porterhouse Bar & Grill
Another Lynchburg classic, newly reopened and with a fresh new menu, the PorterHouse Bar & Grill on Old Graves Mill Road will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.Reservations are required.

13. The Stoney Badger Tavern
Come give thanks for fun, festivity, and food at The Stoney Badger Tavern on Old Forest Road. Opening at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving night and featuring a deejay. First come first served.

14. Waffle House
Breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Waffle House on Timberlake Road never closes—they are open 24/7/365, and in the words of one of their employees, "we are open even in the snow."Good to know.

15. The White Hart Café
The local hip and delicious White Hart Café will serve breakfast and stay open from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving, perfect for anyone attending the Lynchburg Turkey Trot.
