3 Reasons to Cut Out of Work and Celebrate Seattle Sounders
All eyes will be on Seattle Sounders FC as they take to the streets on Tuesday, December 13 for the MLS Cup Champions March in Seattle.
There are plenty of reason to celebrate - here are three that rise to the top.
1. This reason may seem obvious, but in case you've been hiding under a rock the last couple of days - Seattle Sounders FC won the MLS Cup. This is a first in the history of the club. They came a long way from when the team was at the bottom of the MLS standings back in July of this year.
2. Seattle Sounders won the Cup in a penalty-kick shootout victory over Toronto FC at BMO Field. A rare way to win it, especially since the Sounders did not record a shot on goal the entire game.
3. Did you see that one-handed save by Sounder goalkeeper Stefan Frei? If not, Google it. You have to see it to believe it. But for that save, we might not be lining a parade route cheering on the Sounders glorious victory.
Parade details are still being worked out - but when they are announced, make sure you do all you can (call in sick to work if you have to) to cheer on the MLS Cup winners of 2016.
